Some of the silver plants in my yard provide the best foliage and year round good looks. The Helichrysum Icicles is a really good performer. It grows fairly quickly and loves the heat. Seems to be drought tolerant. The best thing about it though is it’s fragrance. I have it in my front yard right up against the walk because in the it smells like maple syrup. Many people stop and ask what it is because they notice the fragrance first. It’s just a bonus that it’s easy to grow.

It is in the foreground of this photo. Another great silver plant is nestled up next to the mums. It is Cerastium or “Snow in Summer”. This is a nice ground cover that hangs over walkways very nicely. It doesn’t have a fragrance, but it gets covered in white flowers that are quite pretty. These are two great silver plants that add some contrast against the darker plants in the yard.
