We had a good time in Clovis this weekend kicking off the Christmas season with a fall craft show at Old Town Flea Market. Don’s lamps were a hit as they are repurposed and one of a kind. I will be listing some of them in the etsy shop soon. The last time we participated in this craft show it was 108 degrees. This weekend was so much better. The sponsors do a good job of keeping us vendors happy with free wifi and many yummy foods available. I had a mushroom & artichoke tamale that was really good. Clovis has many antique,  vintage,  and industrial items in their downtown shops. The next time you’re in Clovis check them out.

Don made this lamp from an old bottle capper.

This tool box is a great size for a succulent garden.

This lamp sold as well as the bottle capper. But there other random items out there just waiting to be made into a lamp.

The bike pump lamp sold as well as the bottle capper lamp. They were my favorites! However, there other random items out there just waiting to be made into a lamp.

A great resource for free embroidery patterns for personal use is flickr. You can join a group of fellow stitchers and share patterns with each other. There are a lot of vintage patterns and some talented people who create patterns to share. They have contest and stitch alongs so that you can upload your finished work for everyone’s enjoyment. If you love embroidery and are looking for some variety and inspiration, you should check it out here. Stitching is a relaxing hobby that produces a tangible work of art – you might as well share it!

I love succulents because I am not that great of a gardener with fussy plants. Succulents don’t need much from me so they are my favorites. I have several different kinds of cute little plants that I harvest once in awhile to make fun things to have around the house. The vertical garden is one. This tutorial at Sunset Magazine has good information for making a box to hang in the patio. My husband made our box from a crech he had made for a craft project at church. He made some boxes too. They turned out so nice!

You can see that the house has more plants and the box looks a little skimpy. We wanted to see what was best as far as spacing as the plants grew, but they both sold at a craft fair so we need to make some more! Gotta love those succulents, just water once a week laying down, and then put them back up on the wall! Easy.
